Today marks two months since I arrived in North Dakota!
I am off orientation and have survived 4 shifts of being a nurse on my own. It is still a little scary knowing I am solely responsible for people's well being but I was told by a few people that this kind of fear is actually healthy fear.
Since my last update I went out for drinks with some of my coworkers who are actually from here and it was really cool to hang out with people you work with regularly outside of a work environment. Just getting to know people on a personal basis instead of a work basis.
I went to the pumpkin patch with my close friend's family and got some really cute pictures of my friend's daughter and niece. If you want to see some of those feel free to check out my photography Facebook page.
My little group of transplant friends have welcomed a few more people into it although it seems we are all starting to get a little busier as we are settling into our lives although we still meet up about once a week for food and drinks.
I am working nights now and have found a new level or tiredness on my days off where I just feel like sleeping until 5 pm and then continue to feel tired throughout my night. I'm not sure if that's just my introverted side has reached a new level of exhaustion from being so outgoing for the last two months or I was so busy for so long that I needed a few days of laying around. Hopefully this feeling will pass soon as i figure out the work-life-sleep balance.
The weather has been much warmer than what I expected for fall with a lot of 70 degree days although in the next 10 days or so it looks like we will be cooling down to the 40s & 50s. I have to admit it's been really nice having a fall where leaves change to orange and yellows and an occasional red and the weather gets a little crisp.
